Our story

A small shop with a long view.

TechZone has been independent since 2016 — same street, same bench, same belief that good technology should be bought once and kept for years.

The TechZone store interior at dusk, with dark walls, brass shelving and warm lighting

TechZone started with a screwdriver and a stubborn refusal to throw things away. In 2016, our founder rented a two-bench workshop in Kingston and began repairing devices that had been written off elsewhere.

Word spread the way it does in small cities: through friends, through people who had once been sold the wrong thing and didn't want it to happen again.

We still repair. We still refuse to overstock. But the shop has grown into a place where you can hear the difference for yourself — the listening room is acoustically treated, the lights are dimmable, and there is always coffee on.

Today TechZone carries forty-two specialist brands, employs four technicians, and remains stubbornly independent. No sales targets, no scripts, no pressure. Just good gear, explained properly.

How we work

Four rules we don't bend.

They're not slogans. They're the reasons customers come back with their friends, their parents and their old speakers.

01

Advice first

We'll talk you out of the wrong purchase before we'll talk you into the right one.

02

Repair, don't replace

Screen, battery and board-level work handled in-house — not shipped off and forgotten.

03

Fewer, better things

If we wouldn't live with it ourselves, it doesn't make the shelf. Simple as that.

04

Fair, visible pricing

Quotes before work starts, and no surprises at collection. Every time.
